Men need to acknowledge that there is a problem; once that happens we can start to change the problems women in tech face.
I often speak on women in cyber security and i am always met with comments from men who tell me it isn’t fair that women are being paid more than them and that there doesn’t need to be any changes to attract / retain more women. Yet up to 30% of the industry have never worked in a team with a woman in it, there are only 14% women in the industry and only around 5% at the top level. Many women in the industry are fighting to be taken seriously as a professional and not as a token hire.
If more men in the industry were to acknowledge that there is a problem and that a gender balance is positive, it would be a great help. Women can do the rest for themselves!
