The most crucial skill to develop, is to be present. It isn’t always easy to give someone your full attention, when you have a million things to do. Putting down your phone, or moving away from the laptop to really listen will ensure your conversations are a better quality. Paying attention in that moment, can also pre-empt problems before they happen, as you have been able to give the advice at the right time.
